I'm sure you've all covered the topic and moved on to some slightly relative subject as you always do, but anybody who thinks there were enough spots for everyone in a server to have their own "spot" is pretty stupid. Why do you think there were almost 200 servers? because each one was full of people and there wasnt enough "spots" for everyone to have their own.

My prized tickets dropped from my body seeing inventory was full, and yet the many swarms of greedy people gathered around my body waiting for more spoils. It was a mule and only one slot had tickets in it, rest were weapons and runes. If only the grasp was in the game area to set the ticket grabbers on fire!

I will confess that one of those might have been me, unless it was something that happened frequently. I have key-mapped item pickup, and during one of these price-dropping events I targeted a stack of 15 tickets and picked it up thinking it was just part of the game. I then saw that there were 3 other stacks around, but as assigned drops. I was a little confused, but didn't really give it much thought and went on my way collecting more gifts.

All I can say is, oops...my bad

Here's my take on the whole thing:

Before the prizes had even started to drop I had scouted out a nice stop of stay, which was near a cluster of NPCs, afterall I already had a idea where they were going to drop... I made the event guide afterall.

Soon as things got started I use a Red Bean Cake and got to work picking up as many as I could.

Far as I see it, it was first come, first serve. And If I didn't pick them up, someone else would have. Even running towards other NPCs people were camping and picking up prizes.

There was however a few people shouting in local about "leeches", "a-holes" and "greedy" people, which did spoil an otherwise fun event.

There was some cases I didn't take other prizes when they were ahead of me, but I had Red Bean Cake (Sugar Rush) on me, so I did hand it back to them in a trade

The early bird gets the worm... that is all.

I was there for the first arrival and my district seemed to be a hole free for the first dropping of prizes.

Running the charges I used my noodle and used the cakes and kept them in inventory.

By the time gifts started dropping I realise in about 10 seconds (this is like lightning reflex time for us blondes) ZOMG the festival area...all those afkers :-x

I scooted over there and snagged myself 89 gifts, I was accompanied by perhaps 3-6 other people and we didnt swear at each other, if I saw someoen was closer to one than I, I went to the next, they generally did the same.

I can only imagine in future visits people camped and turned into star wars fans, camped out for hours, then going postal when someone walked past.

Yeah...like you legally own that piece of digital pretend turf.

I averaged about 35 presents per visit without using bean cakes. I did it by running to a few spawn points in order. Sometimes I snatched a present before someone camped did and sometimes I got beat. That was the fun.

I think it would have been more fun if all the spawns were random with more mad dashes to see who could get there first and not screw up the grab. I would have used more cakes then too. All in all, this was the most fun part of the event for me though.

I only had one person complain that I 'stole' something from him. I graciously offered him the five orbs that came out of that particular present

but he wasn't interested.

While I'm not complaining, cause if I wanted I could have gone to a less crowded district, I averaged about 3 per event, and could only attend 4 times.

Two thoughts for all of you, "first come first served" people, dial-up and computer lag. Final event I was in, I lagged out of the game, just as the prize dropping started, but oh well all I really wanted from this event were the masks, the prizes were just a bonus.

I had a few I was standing on, clicking four or five times, then someone comes in from across the outpost and takes it, that was the only time I was less than joyful, but even then, as I said, if I had too big a problem with it I could have moved someplace else, district or otherwise.

Be polite, whether or not we like it, anything that drops without a name attached to it is fair game. Wait long enough and the attached name will disapear. Now lets review for a second:

1st thing: You don't own anything in game. Nothing is yours.

3rd thing: You don't own anything in game. Nothing is yours.
4th thing: You don't own anything in game. Nothing is yours.

Nothing more to discuss here, as far as "what is mine", or "this is/was my spot", etc.

Be polite, or be silent, period. You don't own anything in game an there is no "Your spot".

Whether or not you're aware, you aggreed to EULA. While it does have some Industry standard blah blah blah, it does states that everything belongs to the company, not the player. So sorry, nothing belongs to you and nothing is yours.

I'm just trying to open a discussion. I want to know how people think about what is fair and not, and what kind of stuff people do mind.

We all know it's just a game, I just want to know how people play the game. There are lots of friendly people in GW, helping you, while others are...well...selfish >.> I'd just like to see what this community is like, and prizegrabbing is just one of the topics you could start for this.

Red Bean Cake + Standing near the Kurzick lady and warrior guy = 60-70 prizes / round easily.

Prize would drop behind those two NCPs. People didn't realize you couldn't run between them to get the prizes. I would stay off to the size and snap up anything behind the NPCs.

As for etiquette: it's a free for all which means there are no rules. Hell if I could have fought to the death for those prizes I would have done it. In fact, I'd have preferred a massive brawl/last man standing type of event.

Well for the two events I was present for... what worked for me was to dip into the Festival games section. Generally the only players in there were just sitting, probably even afk, trying to get the Lucky/Unlucky titles. There were about 5 or 6 spawn points for gifts, and most of the time they were all mine. The couple times someone else was running around with me, if that person was clearly going for a gift and was ahead of me I would stop and look elsewhere. Between my two chances at it I got like 89 prizes or something, which I still haven't opened. But that's good enough for me.

You may not have noticed, but half the time, a festival prize spawned right at your feet, no matter where you were. So, if you just went somewhere that nobody else was, you would at least get them. There was always plenty of open area in the festival games areas, especially down away from the ring games.

. I was the first to camp at the armor crafters where loads of prizes were dropping, but ppl started swarming to my spot, but w/e i dont complain, just a game.
